Sometimes in life, it feels like you are playing against a loaded deck of cards, and nowhere is this truer than in the world of finance (think of all those Wall Street movies like ‘The Big Short,' ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ or even ‘Jerry Maguire’).
A few years ago, I had the serendipitous event of learning about a unique firm, called Fiduciary Financial Advisors. They had this idea to rewrite the way they treated their clients. They would legally care for their client's money like it was their own, as a fiduciary. They would get rid of hidden and expensive fees. There would never be a misleading agenda. They would be someone who was willing to stand up for people like you and me.
So, when I was faced with a tough career decision, to move across the country to work with private equity firms in the big financial system that never actually made sense to me, a lightbulb went on in my head. Why don't I join the team at Fiduciary Financial Advisors and help my colleagues, friends, and family instead? The decision was an easy one to make.
Now I get to help people that I care about. I help them navigate getting out of debt, launching their new business, buying a new home, saving for their dream vacation, building college savings for their children, planning for retirement and making sure their retirement account lasts as long as it is needed.
When I am not in the office, you might run into me sailing out on Lake Michigan, walking my dogs through the park, volunteering at church, spending time with my family, or catching up with friends over dinner. I am always available to chat, so please reach out if you have any questions!
